Work Nails

Its been a bit stressful a work lately, moving to a new department, new computer systems, and everyones roles have changed slightly. So far theres been a lot of issues, so i wanted to do something fun to break the ice and lift spirits a little!

We have a new uniform! It used to be black trousers and this hideous green and blue top, although i got away with wearing a white shirt! Now we wear black trousers, black top, black cardigan (its cold in our new building!!!) and a scarf. The scarf is red , back and grey striped and although i was dubious about it, i quite like it now! Although i do feel like i am an air hostess wearing it! So this week i did my nails to match our new scarf:) Lots of patients commented on it and the other staff found it very funny, so hopefully i cheered them up a tiny bit!

I used Maybelline 40 second in Black, and Rimmel lycrawear in Red, plus an old silver one from 17 i think i got as a freebie years ago!

I used the silver as a base. I never really use this one but i have to say it looked really nice even on its own! Then i put striping tape on each of the nails, 3 strands on each to help my stripe effect. Then using a sponge i used the red and black to create a gradient effect:) If you want to know how to do gradients on nails, i did a post about it previously, which has a link to another blog which has a FANTASTIC tutorial- really easy to follow!
