Milan Fashion Week- Day 2

Thursday 21

Prada

The backdrop to the Prada show held shadows and silhouettes of animals such as cats and birds, an odd choice. Mind you the clothes seemed quite odd too. The dress above, with red and blue stripes is something i would expect more from a Vivienne Westwood show rather than a Prada one.
A lot of off the shoulder details, but less polished than usual, these cuts seemed to be more casual. These garments are less conceptual than some of their previous shows, and far more practical.
Key features are belted waists, huge handbags that act as statement pieces in themselves, and there was a serious theme of jackets and overcoats.
Everything was a littel more casual that we are used to , even the hair and makeup- with models looking like they had just been out in the rain. Definitely a suprise and something new from the brand.

OOH i am just in love with this collection. So Great Gatsby, so 40's elegance..
"The whole idea is that this is a black and white photograph and the models are characters and so the only ones in colour,"
Double breasted suits, hats, leather gloves and drop dead gorgeous evening gowns.
