Wow- Film Inspired Makeup

I saw these images online and had to share them with you all.

A photographer turned make-up artist, named Eva Senin Pernas has created these looks in homage to popular films.
These "Lip Looks" certainly turn heads.
They combine lipsticks, liners, eyeliner and coloured pwders, embellished with gems and glitters.

Hunger Games

Harry Potter

The Lion King (Note the teeny tiny tree against the sunset)

Tim Burtons Night Before Christmas

Breakfast at Tiffanys

And as well as ones based on well known films, these two are also pretty cool

This shows a police tape and faint blood stained finger prints

And forget galaxy print nails, how about galaxy print lips?

Would you try any of these? I am not sure i am brave enough to try on a daily basis, but should a themed party occur or halloween i would definately try this out! It is one way to do fancy dress in a unique way.

What do you think?

Hello!
Sorry, i have had a bit of a break from blogging while i take care of my university studies, my deadlines crept up on me and i found myself blogging to avoid doing work. Also as some of you know i have not been very well, but i am now getting treatment so im back to blogging and getting on with life.

One of my deadlines was for a Buying and Merchandising project which was for the brand Ted Baker.

For those who do not know the brand, Ted Baker is a british brand, its aimed at young professionals who want to look good and want to take what they wear from the office to the bar. Ted Baker take tailored well fitting clothes and adds a quirky spin on the products by making them bright and colourful, as well as introducing their bold prints that the brand is known for.

Valentines Day underwear special

I am really looking forward to Valentines this year, as for once my partner is organising everything, I am a bit of a control freak and usually i end up organising any event so its nice to take a back seat. However its always a good excuse to treat oneself to some new underwear! These are my picks.

This Bra is from La Senza, its very padded but interesting it has a cool effect. The lace that covers the bra is treated with a foil effect so it shimmers!! It costs £33.00

The bottoms are also available in the foiled effect and you can choose different styles such as thong, brazilian hipsters etc. These hipsters are £10.00

This long line bra/ crop bustier is also from La Senza and is very fun showgirl! again it has decent padding, and beign quite snug under the bust, it hoiks everything up a bit to give VERY impressive cleavage! Available for £30.00

And this thong matches it perfectly at just £15.00

This piece is on my wish list!!! This beautiful corset is £60 from Ann Summers. It sounds expensive but it is properly boned, so really its very cheap as usually corsets with proper boning are very expensive.

However if you love the style but not the price tag, this Bra version is also available for £28.00 and a variety of matching bottoms including a side tie thong for just £12.00

Now these pants i actually bought myself. They look a little scary but are actually very comfy- although they are crotchless- I have never bought or worn crotchless pants before but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I actually showed my boyfriend a different set of pants ( the ones below this one!) and he seemed more interested in these so i though i would buy them as a treat. Definitely a pair for a special occasion. They are £10.00

These are for people who want to have a little fun, but maybe aren't brave enough to try the ones above! I can confirm these too are very comfy- and still quite cheeky, no pun intended! £10.00

Finally i searched good old Marks and Spencers for a few goodies too. The lingerie range by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is very sexy but very girly.

I love this set as the material feels very luxurious and it comes in a range of colours, from cream, nude, pink, claret, grey and black. The bra is just £22.50

These are the bottoms, they give full coverage on the front for those who don't want everything out on show, but the back is lovely and lacy. £12.50

Finally this teddy is beautiful, so feminine. Its definitely going on my list. Available for £45.00

Are you indulging in any treats for valentines?

Style crush, Taylor Swift

I want to try and do regular Style crush posts, focusing on a style icon, be it a musician, actress, stylist or designer.
I am starting with a musician i have mentioned a lot, Taylor Swift. She gets a lot of stick for her behaviour and her relationships but i have to say I love her style and more recently she has been looking very elegant.

This purple dress was worn by Taylor in 2008. although its a bit too girly and glitzy for me i think the colour is great on her, and considering her age at the time, a good choice.

This Reem Acra dress, worn by taylor in 2009 is also very glitzy, and very princess like. I love her hair in this image and the dress reminds me of  the Thierry Mugler Alien perfume advert

Taylor is a huge fan of red, and i am a huge fan of this dress! the sweetheart neckline is her trademark recently and the slit adds just a little sex appeal

This look is lovely, big fussy dress but simple hair and makeup. i love the little flash of green and think her hair looks super sleek.

Another fairytale princess look for Taylor but i love the split fringe and A-line shape

This casual look Taylor wore while performing is great, nautical themed casual but fun. its very flattering.

Speaking of flattering this white suit is very grown up and teamed with her trademark red lipstick looks very glam.

I love the jacket in this casual look, teamed with a day dress- she usually goes to tea length with pretty patterns, often featuring birds.

This editorial shows how to get Taylor's look, i love this monochrome dress, and although she wore this months ago, it suits the current monochrome trend, i think ill be looking to get a dress like this.

I was astounded when i saw Taylor in this dress, the shape adds so many curves to her petite form and the colour is drop dead gorgeous! And as i have said before i love a backless dress!

In the same week she wore this dress- another love of mine. It is very classic and elegant but the low cut makes it sexy. Because she has a small chest she can get away with it without being trashy.

And following from that white dress, she wore this one. Again more back detail, a win with me! I love the updated grecian style and that she has matched her hair with the theme. Very chic.

Who is your style crush this week?

My Front Row Fashion Week Outfit

So as part of the Motel Rock street team, they emailed me asking what i would choose to wear if i won tickets for London Fashion Week.

Its a really tough question, obviously i would want to look my best, but its a long day and i would want to be comfortable.

I dont have one distinct style i dress for, it depends how i feel on the day. However my favouite colours to dress in are deifnatley red and black so i have chosen an outfit in those colours.

Motel Rocks
Firstly i would choose a leather look Skater skirt. I love the pleats in this one, and the length is great for showing off legs, but without being too short. the A-line shape makes it very feminine.

Motel Rocks
However i also love the studded detail of this skirt, so maybe i would buy some studs and apply them myself to the previous skirt

Topshop
I would pair it with a Claret coloured long sleeved lace top- sort of like this one, but with a more classic lace pattern rather than the paisley pattern

Motel Rocks
On my legs i would wear these tights, simple but the little love hearts jazz them up.
Motel Rocks

I would team the outfit with this gorgeous bangle, which matches the love hearts on the tights.

Shoe wise, it has to be heels at fashion week, but i still need to be comfy....

Motel Rocks
These shoes are a statement in themselves, but by wearing a boot with a thick heel, it will prevent my feet from burning up!

So there we have it, a simple but fashionable look for London Fashion Week.

OOTD 06/01/13

Casual outfit yesterday, just went round the boyfriends house to watch films.  I worse my super comfy burgundy jeggings from New Looks- however i must say their sizing is crazy. I bought these and some denim ones, the denim ones were to replace my old ones which i worse so much the bum wore out! I literally bought the same set in the same size and honestly these new ones are HUGE in comparison. I am going to have to put a few stitches in them! For now i guess ill make the most of my belts i got for Christmas! I paired them with a plain brown strappy top i bought from Primark years ago- i am amazed its still in one piece baring in mind that it cost £1.50! And i kept warm by wearing a plain black cardigan from H+M, and this cute scarf, also from Primark. The skull pattern seems to be on trend again, but i preferred this one as its not too garish, and even when the trend of skulls is over i think i could still wear it. The colours too seem to go with most of my wardrobe!
I also wore my heeled boots, which are super comfy. I actually borrowed these from my mum last year for my Lara Croft outfit for a friends birthday, but i liked them so much i kept them! She just bought herself new ones to replace these the other day (Sorry mum!). To finish it off i wore my necklace which i have written about in other posts.

(N.B the picture of the print on my scarf makes me chuckle, the way the scarf is hanging makes the skull look like the "Forever Alone" guy from all the internet Memes)
